Strategic Growth, PR & Community Impact: LH3 / Lauri Harrison Communications (2000–2011)

Context & Vision Following MapQuest’s acquisition, Lauri founded LH3 (later transitioning to a solo entrepreneur model under Lauri Harrison PR) to deliver high-impact marketing, public relations, and go-to-market strategies for emerging tech companies, startups, and mid-market brands. Over a decade of practice, the firm provided strategic counsel, brand positioning, and event execution that helped early-stage companies establish authority, launch products, and build lasting community presence.

Key Initiatives & Impact

  • Community & Crisis Networking Initiatives: Conceived and launched high-profile dot-com networking events, including SchmoozeIt! and the original Pink Slip Party. These events provided crucial community, visibility, and job-placement avenues for tech workers during the early 2000s tech downturn.
  • Emerging Tech Client Roster: Served as a trusted strategic advisor to premier technology clients—including MapQuest (as a founding post-acquisition client), Embarcadero Technologies, Mission 3-D, ViaWest, and Intellocity—delivering tailored PR and growth campaigns.
  • Scalable Business Growth: Achieved $500K+ in revenue in the first year of operation, securing retainer engagements up to $16K/month and earning a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Gold Pick Award for high-performing client campaign strategy and execution.
  • Civic & Industry Leadership: Selected for Denver Mayor Wellington Webb’s Denver 2025 Commission to help shape future civic and leadership directions for the city. Served as Chapter President of the Colorado American Marketing Association (2006–2007) and held board positions with the March of Dimes and the University of Hawaii Alumni Association.
